Overview of accessibility

Description of the building

Thecomplex, which houses the Department of Physical Education and the Departmentof Music Education, consists of a main building, a three-storey annex connectedby a junction, and a covered hall with a swimming pool.

Entrance

The access walkway has a surfacemade of a combination of concrete and paving tiles. The entrance to the mainbuilding is not barrier-free (6 steps up, 1 step up).

The modified side entrance to the annex, from which a junction leads to the mainbuilding, is located approximately 100 m from the main building. A section ofthe access walkway has a concrete surface with significant inconsistencies. Infront of the entrance, there is a single ramp (gradient 9%, width 110 cm,length 440 cm) with a one-sided handrail (height 89 cm). The manoeuvring areaon the upper landing is sufficient. The double-panel door (main panel width 84cm, secondary panel width 92 cm) without a doorbell opens mechanically outwards.

Interior

There is a reception area (counter height 96 cm) in the spacious entrancehall of the annex. The Faculty of Education uses in the building only the 1^stabove-ground and 1^st underground floors of the annex, as well as theinaccessible 1^st underground floor of the main building with the Department of Music Education and the swimming pool. The other premises arerented by private elementary schools.

On the 1^st above-ground floor of the annex (level of the sideentrance), there are three accessible tiered lecture rooms B 103, B 104, and B105 (door width 88 cm). The unmarked space for people with wheelchairs is inthe lower part by the door. A corridor leads from the lecture rooms to amodified toilet (see Sanitary facilities) and to the gymnasium (door width 2x60 cm) with changing rooms.

The 1^st above-ground floor is connected to the 1^stunderground floor by a vertical lifting platform (load capacity 600 kg;mechanically opening door width 90 cm; manoeuvring area width 104 cm, depth 218cm). The manoeuvring space for the boarding areas is sufficient.

In the 1^st underground floor, there is a student club (doorwidth 2x 80 cm), department offices (door width 80 cm; threshold height 3 cm),classroom B001, a gym, and a massage room. From the floor level, there is alsoa staircase (3 steps up, 12 steps down) leading to the entrance to a small gymwith a climbing wall.

At the level of the 1^st undergroundfloor, there is also access from the vertical lifting platform to the mainbuilding through a junction, and the elementary school canteen is located onthis floor. At the end of the junction, there is a staircase (9 steps up) withan inclined stair platform (load capacity 230 kg; manoeuvring area width 85 cm,depth 110 cm). The manoeuvring space on both landings is sufficient. Theplatform is not self-service. The staircase with the platform is connected by acorridor that leads to the entrance hall of the main building. The Departmentof Music Education in the main building only uses the spaces on the inaccessible1^st underground floor. The classrooms are only accessible by amulti-level staircase (7 steps down, 2 steps down, 9 steps down).

The covered hall with a swimming pool, which is right next to the annexfrom the northeast side, has non-barrier-free access via stairs from the 1^stabove-ground floor of the annex (next to the gymnasium) and a modified separateentrance reserved for people with mobility restrictions from Fakultní Street. Apavement (longitudinal slope of up to 10%, transverse slope of 4%) rises fromthe parking area to the modified entrance, which has a concrete surface withsignificant inconsistencies in the lower part, while the upper part consists ofconcrete paving. The area in front of the entrance is level.

The entrance door (width 89 cm) opens mechanically inwards. From thevestibule, there is an entrance to a walk-through changing room (width 169 cm,depth 149 cm). The opposite doors (width 80 cm) open mechanically outwards fromthe room.

The changing room is connected to the bathroom (width 320 cm, depth 230cm) equipped with a toilet, a shower at floor level (without a raised edge),and a sink. The bathroom leads directly to the pool. The single-panel slidingdoor (width 88 cm) has a high threshold (height 5 cm).

Lift

Connection to the floors is resolved by a verticallifting and inclined staircase platform (see Interior).

Sanitary facilities

Aninappropriately designed modified toilet (door width 90 cm; stall width 158 cm,depth 138 cm) is located on the 1^st above-ground floor of the annexand is separate. The marked single-panel door opens mechanically outwards.Anchoring of the toilet bowl on the front wall opposite the door restricts sideaccess. The sink with no space underneath is placed diagonally on the sidewall. The toilet bowl is equipped with one fixed and one pull-down handle.

Parking

There is a reserved parking space in theparking area in Fakultní street in front of the modified entrance to the pool.It has a significantly rough surface.
