Charles University tries to meet the needs of students who are parents with young children and create conditions enabling them to bring their study and parent duties into accord.

There are two nursery schools run by the University and some faculties have children's corners which can be used for short stays with children.

Moreover, these students can apply for the time which would otherwise be counted as the period of maternity or parental leave to be recorded as a “recognised parental leave “. During this period such students are entitled to modified study conditions.

Besides monitoring the services in this area and providing counselling support, Centrum Carolina strives to initiate the enhancement of services provided to this target group.
