Description of the building

The Jednota dormitory is located in the city centre near the Main Train Station. The building has one barrier-free unit with two rooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen.

Entrance

The access pavement has a predominantly asphalt surface with only slight irregularities. The crosswalks in the area have lowered curbs.

In front of the main entrance, there is one step up (height 14 cm, depth 40 cm), which is compensated for by a grated ramp (gradient 12.5%, width 140 cm, length 106 cm) without a handle. The double door (width 2x 110 cm) opens mechanically inwards. At the door on the right above the ramp, there is a doorbell (height 144 cm) and a chip reader (height 125 cm). From the vestibule (width 266 cm, depth 177 cm), the same double door leads to the entrance hall with a reception area (desk height 125 cm).

Interior

From the entrance hall, a double door (2x 70 cm) leads to the corridor with a lift. The lift with insufficient cabin depth connects all floors, including the mezzanine.

Barrier-free unit no. 120/121 is located on the 2nd above-ground floor. All doors and passages in the unit have a minimum width of 80 cm. From the hallway (manoeuvring space ø min. 130 cm) with a wardrobe, there is an open passage on the left to the kitchenette (counter height 76 cm, under space 64 cm) and a spacious bathroom. Straight and to the right are the entrances to the rooms (manoeuvring space ø min. 130 cm) equipped with a single bed (height 40 cm), a work desk (height 75 cm, under space 73 cm), and a wardrobe. The layout of the furniture can be adjusted as needed.

The bathroom (door width 80 cm, room width 270 cm, depth 248 cm) with a toilet and a modified shower is accessible from the hallway. The single-panel bathroom door opens mechanically towards the hallway. The toilet is located on the side wall of the bathroom. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet is sufficient (width 170 cm). The toilet is equipped with two pull-down handles. The walk-in shower is equipped with a shower seat.

The shared student laundry and kitchen facilities on the floor are not barrier-free (1 step up, height 12 cm). The common areas also include a study room on the 2nd above-ground floor (door width 86 cm, threshold height 3 cm) and a TV room on the 3rd above-ground floor (door width 90 cm, threshold height 2 cm).

Lift

The lift (mechanically opening door width 75 cm, cabin width 123 cm, depth 98 cm) does not have sufficient cabin dimensions. It connects the 1st to 4th above-ground floors, including the mezzanine. The manoeuvring space in front of the lift is sufficient. The cabin is equipped with a handle (height 94 cm) and a mirror (lower edge height 148 cm) on the front wall. There is no pull-down seat in the cabin. The controls at the entrances have a maximum height of 137 cm. The maximum height of the controls inside the cabin is 120 cm.

Sanitary facilities

There are no barrier-free sanitary facilities in  the common area of the dormitory. There is only a modified bathroom and toilet in the room (see Interior).

Parking

There are no reserved parking spaces near the building.
