Description of the building

The Hvězda dormitory is made up of three accommodation blocks. Each block has a separate entrance. There is one barrier-free room available in block no. 3.

Entrance

From the bus stop Nad Markétou, a pavement leads to the main entrance of block no. 3 via Zvoníčkova Street. It has an irregular asphalt surface and is interrupted by an entryway that does not have lowered curbs. The adjacent, not very busy road may be taken either to the main entrance or to the side entrance.

There is a staircase (8 steps up) in front of the main entrance. The double door (width 2x 90 cm) with a doorbell (height 154 cm) and a chip reader (height 134 cm) leads to a spacious entrance hall with a reception area.

The alternative entrance from the east side of the block is at the level of the lowered ground floor. An asphalt pavement leads to it from Zvoníčkova Street, which slopes for 10 metres (gradient 8%-10.5%). The area in front of the entrance is flat. The single-panel door (width 82 cm) with a doorbell (height 147 cm) and a chip reader (height 132 cm) opens mechanically outwards and leads to the staircase corridor with a lift.

Interior

Barrier-free room H3D109 is located on the 2nd above-ground floor of the north wing of block no. 3. From the side entrance, there is a lift to the 2nd above-ground floor of the southeast wing of block no. 3. There is a staircase (9 steps up) in the connecting passage between the southeast and north wings with a self-service sloping stair platform (load capacity 250 kg, traffic area width 82 cm, depth 106 cm, controls max. height 110 m). The manoeuvring space on the lower landing is limited (width min. 150 cm, depth 110 cm). The upper stair landing has a sufficient amount of space.

A wide central corridor leads to the room, at the end of which is a rest area.

The door of the room (width 90 cm) opens towards the hallway (manoeuvring space ø 150 cm), which is equipped with a kitchen (height 87 cm, under space 70 cm) on the left side. To the right is shoe storage with a coat rack, the entrance to the bathroom, and a refrigerator. There is a door (width 90 cm) that opens towards the room (width 500 cm, depth 260 cm).

The room is equipped with a single bed (height 48 cm), work desk (height 83 cm, under space 80 cm), a wardrobe, and a coffee table.

The entrance to the bathroom (door width 90 cm, room width 240 cm, depth 226 cm) with a toilet and modified shower is from the hallway. The single-panel bathroom door opens mechanically towards the hallway. Access to the toilet, which is located in the right rear corner of the bathroom, is on the left when looking from the entrance into the stall. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet is sufficient (width 80 cm). The toilet is equipped with one fixed and one pull-down handle. The walk-in shower is equipped with handles and a shower seat.

The student laundry room, to which a short staircase leads from the reception area (3 steps up), is not barrier-free.

Lift

A lift (automatically opening door width 90 cm, cabin width 123 cm, depth 203 cm) connects the lowered ground floor to the 5th above-ground floor. The manoeuvring space in front of the lift is sufficient. The cabin is equipped with a handle (height 92 cm) on the front wall and a pull-down seat within reach of the controls. There is no mirror in the cabin. The controls at the entrances have a maximum height of 97 cm. The maximum height of the controls inside the cabin is 109 cm.

Sanitary facilities

There are no barrier-free sanitary facilities in the common areas of the complex. There is only a modified bathroom and toilet in the room (see Interior).

Parking

There is a reserved parking space in front of each entrance to the blocks. The closest to the side modified entrance is the reserved parking space in front of the entrance to block no. 2.

There is also a takeaway food service located here without a canteen.
