Description of the building

The dormitory is divided into two blocks K1 and K2 with separate entrances and reception areas. The canteen and standard dorm rooms are located in building K1. There are four barrier-free rooms in building K2.

Entrance

From the Kajetánka bus stop, an asphalt pavement leads to building K1 with a barrier-free crosswalk and a longitudinal slope of up to 8%. The pavement continues on the left side of the building towards the K2 block. In this section, there is a significant slope of up to 15%.

Building K1 has no barrier-free access. In front of the main entrance door (width 2x 83 cm, doorbell height 153 cm), there is a staircase (10 steps up). There is also a non-barrier-free rear entrance (access pavement gradient up to 14%, 3 steps up). Both entrances lead to a common hall with the reception area (desk height 80 cm).

Access to building K2 is resolved by a single ramp (gradient 11%, width 178 cm, length 546 cm) with a double-sided handrail (height 91 cm). The concrete surface of the ramp is irregular, especially in the lower part. The manoeuvring space on the lower and upper landings is sufficient. The ramp leads to the side entrance (door width 2x 87 cm, chip reader height 96 cm), which is to the left of the non-barrier-free main entrance (4 steps up, door width 2x 87 cm). The doorbell (height 148 cm) is in the vestibule behind the main entrance. Both entrances lead to a common hall with the reception area (desk height 96 cm).

Interior

Building K2. Two barrier-free units are located next to each other on the 2nd above-ground floor at the entrance level. Each unit consists of two rooms and a shared bathroom (i.e. 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms). A wide corridor leads to them from the entrance hall.

All doors and passages in the units have a minimum width of 80 cm with a threshold (height max. 2 cm). Each room has its own hallway (manoeuvring space ø 120 cm) with a kitchen (height 76 cm, under space 60 cm).

The rooms (manoeuvring space ø min. 130 cm) are equipped with a single bed (height 40 cm), work desk (height 75 cm, under space 74 cm) and a wardrobe. The layout of the furniture can be adjusted as needed.

The entrance to the bathroom (door width 90 cm, room width 239 cm, depth 223 cm) with a toilet and modified shower is from the hallway (the bathroom has two doors opposite each other). The single-panel bathroom door opens mechanically towards the hallway. The toilet is located on the side wall of the bathroom. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet is sufficient (width 152 cm). The toilet is equipped with two pull-down handles. The walk-in shower is equipped with a handle and a shower seat.

Room 1 is equipped with its own washing machine.

In the K2 building, there are common rooms on each floor (door width 80 cm, threshold height 2 cm).

The entrance floor with barrier-free units is connected to the other floors by a lift (see Lift).

Building K1. There are no barrier-free rooms in the block. The building includes an accommodation office on the elevated ground floor, a canteen on the 2nd above-ground floor, and a laundry room in the basement. None of the floors has barrier-free access.

The floors of the building, except for the street level, are connected by a lift (see Lift). At the level of the 2nd above-ground floor, access via one step down and a double door with a narrowed main panel (width 2x 76 cm) leads from it to the canteen.

Before entering the canteen, there is a sanitary facility with a modified stall (see Sanitary facilities). 

Lift

The lift for building K1 (automatically opening door width 80 cm, cabin width 112 cm, depth 210 cm) connects the 1st underground floor, the elevated ground floor, and all other above-ground floors. The manoeuvring space in front of the lift is sufficient. The lift is equipped with a mirror (lower edge height 108 cm) on the front wall, handles (height 92 cm) around the perimeter, and a pull-down seat within reach of the controls. The controls at the entrances have a maximum height of 129 cm. The maximum height of the controls inside the cabin is 120 cm.

The lift for building K2 (mechanically opening door width 80 cm, cabin width106 cm, depth 195 cm) connects the 1st to 5th above-ground floors. The manoeuvring space in front of the lift is restricted with regard to the opening of the cabin door outwards. The lift is equipped with a mirror (lower edge height 98 cm) and a handle (height 91 cm) on the front wall. There is no seat in the cabin. The controls at the entrances have a maximum height of 135 cm. The maximum height of the controls inside the cabin is 120 cm.

Sanitary facilities

There is one barrier-free modified toilet stall for the public in the complex next to the canteen on the 2nd above-ground floor of building K1, which does not have barrier-free access.

The stall (door width 90 cm, stall width 175 cm, depth 173 cm) is separate. The single-panel stall door is marked and opens mechanically outwards. Access to the toilet when looking from the entrance into the stall is on the left. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet is sufficient (width 80 cm). The toilet is equipped with one pull-down and one fixed handle.

Other modified bathrooms and toilets are part of the accommodation units (see Interior). 

Parking

There are two reserved parking spaces in front of the entrance to building K2.
