The extensive accommodation complex in Hostivař consists of a central building with a reception area and another ten interconnected blocks. Two barrier-free rooms are located in block no. 10.
Access from the public transportation stops to the dormitory complex is complicated. Access pavements are irregular, and some sections are sloping (up to 10%). The route leads along Weilova Street.
There is a staircase (3 steps up, 4 steps up, 3 steps up) in front of the main entrance of the central building, which may be avoided on the left. The double doors of the main entrance automatically open to the sides. The width of the passage is sufficient. From the spacious entrance hall, where there is a central reception area and accommodation office (desk height 116 cm), a staircase leads to the rooms.
An alternative entrance directly to building no. 10, which includes an accommodation unit with barrier-free modified rooms on the elevated ground floor, leads from the complex’s south road (at Kobylákova Street). The surface of the road and the areas before entering block no. 10 are made of concrete panels with irregularities.
Barrier-free access to the rooms is resolved by a lift with doors on both sides, which at the street level (ground floor) opens outwards next to the ramp (gradient 9.5%, width 160 cm, length 245 cm) at the entrance door (main panel width 82 cm, side panel width 45 cm, doorbell height 150 cm, chip reader height 133 cm).
The lift connects the street level and the corridor of the elevated ground floor, which leads to the accommodation unit. The unit consists of a common hallway with a bathroom and a kitchenette, with the rooms for guests with reduced mobility adjoining on the right and left sides and the rooms for assistants behind them.
All doors and passages in the unit have a minimum width of 80 cm, with the exception of the bathroom door (width 60 cm) in the assistance rooms, which are not barrier-free.
The common hallway and both adjoining rooms are spacious (manoeuvring space ø min. 150 cm). The hallway is equipped with a kitchen (height 76 cm, under space 64 cm). The entrances to the rooms lead from the hallway on the right and left (width 380 cm, depth 290 cm), each with one bed (height 48 cm). The rooms are connected to the rooms for assistants.
The entrance to the shared bathroom with a toilet and modified shower (door width 90 cm, room width 345 cm, depth 150-243 cm) leads directly from the hallway. The single-panel bathroom door opens mechanically towards the hallway. Access to the toilet, which is located at an angle in the left rear corner of the bathroom, is on the left when looking from the entrance into the stall. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet is sufficient (width 96 cm). The toilet is equipped with one fixed handle anchored horizontally on the side wall and one pull-down handle, which is anchored on the rear wall and extends over the toilet bowl in a horizontal position (i.e. the handles are not longitudinal to the toilet).
The spacious walk-in shower stall (width 150 cm, depth 145 cm) is equipped with a horizontal handle and shower faucet on the side wall. There is no anchored shower seat.
On the 1st underground floor, which is accessible by a lift, there is a laundry room (door width 80 cm). No other common areas are available.
A lift with doors on both sides (automatically opening door width 90 cm, cabin width 110 cm, depth 213 cm) connects the 1st underground floor to the 8th above-ground floor. The manoeuvring space in front of the lift is sufficient. The cabin has doors located opposite each other. The lift is equipped with a pull-down seat and a handle (height 94 cm) on the side wall. There is no mirror in the cabin. The controls at the entrances have a maximum height of 112 cm. The maximum height of the controls inside the cabin is 118 cm. The lift is locked. The dormitory administration provides guests with a key for operating the lift.
There are no barrier-free sanitary facilities in the common areas of the complex. There is only a modified bathroom and toilet in the accommodation unit (see Interior)
There are no reserved parking spaces in front of the central building with the reception area or at block no. 10. Upon agreement, the unmarked parking area may be used in front of the entrance to block no. 10 to which the south complex road connecting Weilova and Pluníkovka Mráz Streets leads.
