Overview of accessibility

Description of the building

The Centre for Ibero-American Studies and the Institute of Translation Studies of the Faculty of Arts of CU are located in the Sweerts-Špork Palace. The Špork Palace Library is also located here and administers the collections for Translation Studies, Ibero-American Studies and, in part, also Romanian Studies.

Entrance

The surface of the access walkway consists of tiled paving. In the entrance area, the pavement rises in a transverse slope towards the entrance (max. 10%).

The double-panel entrance door (main panel width 87 cm, secondary panel width 85 cm) opens mechanically inwards. The doorbell (height 165 cm) is located to the left of the door. In the entrance hall, there is a reception area (counter height 93 cm) and a lift immediately next to the reception.

Interior

The individual floors of the building are connected by a passenger lift. The library is located in the inaccessible lower ground floor (2 steps down).

On the 1^st above-ground floor (level of the entrance), there is the Institute of Comparative Studies (door width 90 cm), the library (door width 90 cm), a refreshment corner with a drink machine, and a modified toilet stall (see sanitary facilities).

The Institute of Translation Studies and the Centre for Ibero-American Studies are located on the 2^nd and 3^rd above-ground floors. The doors to lecture rooms 101 and 201 are single-panel (width 90 cm). The entrances to other classrooms and offices are double-panel with a narrowed passage through the main panel (main panel width 63 to 65 cm, secondary panel width 50 to 55 cm).

Lift

A lift (automatically opening door width 90 cm; cabin width 110 cm, depth 140 cm) connects the 1^st to 4^th above-ground floors. The manoeuvring space in front of the lift is sufficient. The cabin is equipped with a handle (height 88 cm) and a mirror on the front wall. The control buttons can be reached from the pull-down seat. The controls at the entrances are a maximum height of 110 cm. The maximum height of the controls inside the cabin is 120 cm.

Sanitary facilities

The partially accessible toilet (door width 81 cm; stall width 150 cm, depth 162 cm) is separate and located on the 1^st above-ground floor in the main corridor. The toilet is locked, and the key is available at the reception. The single-panel door to the toilet is marked and opens mechanically outwards. Access to the toilet bowl from the stall entrance is on the right. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet bowl is partially narrowed (width 75 cm). The toilet bowl is equipped with one pull-down handle and one fixed handle.

Parking

A reserved parking space without access to the pavement is located on the opposite side of Hybernská Street near the intersection with Senovážná Street. The adjacent crosswalk is barrier-free.
