The building houses the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, which provides rehabilitation services to patients with neurological and locomotory disorders. The department offers undergraduate instruction in general medicine, follow-up master’s and bachelor’s studies in occupational therapy, bachelor’s studies in physiotherapy, and other areas of study.
A barrier-free tram stop (Albertov) is located approximately 350 metres from the building.
Two reserved parking spaces are available at the intersection of Albertov Street and Studničkova Street.
The surface of the access pavement is made of mosaic tiles with a longitudinal slope (max. 6%). In front of the entrance to the building, there are two steps up, which are compensated for by a straight single ramp (gradient 12.5%, width 145 cm, length 125 cm) with a one-sided handrail (height 91 cm) and a coarser paved surface. The manoeuvring space under the ramp is sufficient.
The double entrance door (main panel width 65 cm, side panel width 70 cm) opens mechanically inwards. Due to the good accessibility of the doorbell (height 99 cm), which is located on the left side of the door above the ramp, the building is still considered to be partially accessible, even though the width of the main panel of the entrance door is insufficient.
A staircase (6 steps up) with a sloping stair platform leads from the entrance to the elevated ground floor (load capacity 300 kg, traffic area width 84 cm, depth 109 cm). The platform is self-service (button height max. 104 cm). The manoeuvring spaces on the lower and upper stair landings are sufficient.
When entering, the library is to the right (door width 2x 60 cm). On the left, there is a corridor to the lower ground floor (2 steps down) with a straight single ramp (gradient 16.5%, width 85 cm, length 177 cm) to classroom II (door width 2x 60 cm). The corridor then leads straight to the filing room, surgeries (door width 2x 60 cm), rehabilitation bathroom for patients (door width 2x 72 cm), classroom III, and a lift that connects all the main floors of the building.
From the basement level, which is also connected to the ground floor by the lift, a short staircase (3 steps down) leads to a lowered level where there is a storage room and a testing room for compensating aids (door width min. 80 cm). The elevated area is compensated for by a vertical platform (load capacity not specified, traffic area width 81 cm, depth 126 cm). The platform is self-service (button height max. 70 cm). The manoeuvring spaces on the lower and upper stair landings are sufficient.
In the basement, there is a day care centre and an exit to the courtyard (door width 86 cm) where you can use the parking space upon prior agreement. The entrance to the courtyard may be accessed through the gate from Studničkova Street.
Lecture rooms, a gym, and a psychological and occupational therapy surgery (door width 2x 60 cm) are located on the 2nd above-ground floor. The Institute of Nursing Theory and Practice is located on the 3rd above-ground floor, which includes a bathroom with a walk-in shower (door width 80 cm, stall width 222 cm, depth 179 cm) and a toilet without handles.
The manoeuvring space in the interior of the whole building is sufficient.
A lift (automatically opening door width 80 cm, cabin width 100 cm, depth 140 cm) connects the lower 1st underground floor to the 3rd above-ground floor. The manoeuvring space in front of the lift is sufficient. The cabin with a pull-down seat is equipped with a handle (height 93 cm) on the side wall. There is no mirror in the cabin. The controls at the entrances have a maximum height of 92 cm. The maximum height of the controls inside the cabin is 107 cm.
The building has a total of three modified toilets and two rehabilitation bathrooms (see interior).
A partially accessible toilet (door width 80 cm, stall width 225 cm, depth 125-160 cm) in the basement is separate. The single-panel stall door is marked and opens mechanically outwards. Access to the toilet when looking from the entrance into the stall is on the left. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet is sufficient (width 149 cm). The toilet is equipped with one pull-down and one fixed handle. The sink is located in the access hallway.
The second modified toilet (door width 90 cm, stall width 92-152 cm, depth 166 cm) on the lowered ground floor does not have satisfactory parameters or manoeuvring space.
The third modified toilet (door width 91 cm, stall width 157 cm, depth 142 cm) on the 2nd above-ground floor is part of the sanitary facilities (door width 90 cm, hallway width 131 cm, depth 303 cm). The single-panel door of the combined stall is marked and opens mechanically outwards. Access to the toilet on the left side wall when looking from the entrance into the stall is on the left. The space for a wheelchair next to the toilet is limited (width 78 cm). The toilet is equipped with one pull-down and one fixed handle. The sink is located in the hallway.
